I’m looking for an ongoing relationship where I write ads, emails, webinars and more that make you at least a 10-times return on your investment. And therefore, starting this relationship off on the right foot… with me proving my ability to write sales copy that actually converts… is the smart way to go.

If you do agree, you’ll want to know the terms of the initial project we do together:

First, (and this is a long paragraph) we’ll talk twice on zoom. The first time we talk will be to get the lay of the land of your business and see if there’s a good fit between what you want to achieve and what I feel I can conservatively do for you. It’s important that we talk in conservative terms, not hyperbole, because I don’t want to make promises I can’t keep… and… I don’t want you to hype me into writing copy for a product or service that doesn’t offer true value to your clients. I am, after all, as a copywriter, the advocate for your client and therefore need to know that what I’m selling is in their best interest while making a handy profit for you. The second time we talk on zoom, a day or two after the first call, is to discuss the details of the project so I can begin writing for you. The first call will take about 30 minutes unless you have questions that make the call go longer. The second call will take 1 hour and will be a recorded call because I’ll need to refer back to the conversation to write your copy.

Second, after the second call, I’ll write your copy. This will take anywhere from 1-2 weeks depending on my workload at the time (you are not my only client and I live and die by deadlines).

Third, I will hand the copy over to you for approval and corrections of any factual information I may have gotten wrong (you are, after all, the expert, not me).

Forth, you will respond to my first draft with comments or feedback. We will discuss the feedback and the final copy will be submitted.

Fifth, you will run the copy. If it’s a Facebook ad you’ll run it. If it’s an email, you’ll send it. If it’s changes to a landing page or sales page you’ll publish it. If it’s changes to a VSL or webinar you’ll implement the changes. And so on.

Sixth, you’ll share the results with me.

Lucky number seven, we’ll decide if we’ll do future projects together at my standard rates and terms which will be calculated on a fee for services plus royalty or percentage payout for results to keep your initial investment down.

Sound fair enough?

Of course, none of this will happen if
you can’t meet this one condition:

Regardless of whether we do future projects together or not, you must be willing to either write me a testimonial for the work we do together on this first project (assuming you are happy with what we achieved together)… or… you must refer me to at least one business contact to whom I can extend this same offer.
